Behaviour Support – SW Services

Behaviour Support SW advises and supports the social, emotional and behavioural needs of children within a primary educational setting.

As an experienced Behavioural Support Worker and TIS Practitioner, I am able to work closely with pupils, staff, parents and carers to assist in the development of behavioural management plans, strategies, policies and staff development to address challenging behaviour.

The service that I provide includes:

  • Individual casework and reviews through observations of behaviour and interactions within the classroom setting.
  • Follow up written reports of advice and strategies to reduce difficult behaviour, this may include; individual and whole class behavioural management strategies, emotional development plans and stress management techniques.
  • Support with the use of assessments including Boxall Profile and TIS assessment where appropriate and writing of action plans.
  • Support in developing Nurture provisions.
  • Strategies for classroom support for the diagnosis of AS/ADHD/Sensory needs.
  • Transition between key stages or from year to year.
  • 1-1 behavioural support with individual children.
  • Surgery for staff to discuss issues and concerns with the aim to ultimately empower staff to support and make change in the classroom.
  • Tactical advice and support available to staff through email or telephone.
  • Tracked progress and assessments presented in data form to support school tracking and effective use of resources.
  • Attendance to relevant TAC, PSP, CIN, CP and Annual Review meetings.
  • Delivery of staff training in the promotion of a good SEMH environment.
